Practice software for solo psychologists in Switzerland, sold into a market where the word AI makes the audience flinch. The identity had to earn trust before it earned attention.

The problem

Psychologists in private practice lose roughly a third of their working week to admin that could be automated. Session notes, patient records, invoicing, insurance paperwork. Maindi takes it off them.

The founder is an automation engineer who previously designed systems for Mercedes, VW and BMW. His partner is a practising psychologist. That combination is why the product understands the work instead of guessing at it.

The brand problem was narrower and harder. This audience is cautious about software in general and openly wary of AI anywhere near therapy. A brand that led with intelligence would lose them in the first three seconds.

What discovery surfaced

The competitor is not other software. Asked who they were really up against, the founder named established Swiss practice management platforms and, alongside them, inertia. Most psychologists keep doing it the way they have always done it. You do not beat inertia by shouting at it.

Three words were chosen to describe the brand: calm, discreet, trustworthy. Three were ruled out: playful, clinical, energetic. That is an unusually clear brief, and it rules out almost everything a software brand normally reaches for.

The decisions

The mark is drawn rather than constructed. A single continuous stroke that reads as an M and as something made by hand, which is the point. This is a tool built by two people who know the work, not a platform assembled by a company you will never speak to.

The wordmark is a warm lowercase serif. Serif because it carries the weight of an established profession. Lowercase and warm because clinical was explicitly off the table. Deep navy rather than the light blues and gradients the category defaults to.

The brand demonstrates restraint instead of arguing for it. The product stays in admin territory and never touches clinical decisions, so the identity behaves the same way. It stays in the background and gets on with it.

What was delivered

Discovery, brand strategy, and the identity: primary mark, wordmark, and the lockups that carry them across product and marketing.
